Welcome to Cat Care of Vinings!
As of 2016, Cat Care of Vinings is honored to serve the Vinings, Smyrna and North West Atlanta communities for nearly a decade! Our focus is the unique needs of you and your cat from the time you arrive and throughout your visit. Your cat’s health and welfare is the heart of our practice. We practice a “less-is-more” approach in every effort to earn both you and your fuzzy feline’s trust with our care and services. Our Why Cats Only? and Before We Meet sections at www.catcareofvinings.com have tips to help you get to know us prior to your visit and ensure a smooth transit to our office. We offer behavioral consultations Monday through Friday, regular care appointments and second opinions six days a week—early drop off and late afternoon pick up services are always available for your convenience.
Cat Care of Vinings was designed as a sanctuary for cats---"even the most nervous and anxious of breeds can be attended to here no matter how serious the condition." We believe cats require special emotional support in addition to traditional, species-specific medical care. Cat Care of Vinings is a place where cats can be treated and handled with dignity and specific attention to their unique physiology and psyche.
Dr. Michael Friedlander, owner of Cat Care of Vinings feels it is important to live a life of daily service--her personal interests include working to improve the quality of life for feral animals, neglected pets and wildlife around the world through several rescue organizations including the ASPCA, Good Mews Animal Foundation, and all local shelters and rescue orgainizations by offering initial exams for no cost to new owners. "It is our way of ensuring we play a vital part in starting new owners off with support as they rescue a cat or kitten in need." Dr. Mike is highly committed to community and personal service to others; she feels it is an essential part of a complete and balanced life and gives her spare time to work with women seeking to make changes in their lives. Many of them have suffered severe abuse and sought refuge in destructive forces such as alcohol and drug addiction. One of her favorite reflections was spoken many years ago by Winston Churchill:
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
