Dr. Jason Doukas is a native New Yorker, having grown up on Long Island. He graduated from the College of William and Mary before entering Veterinary School at the University of Illinois. In 2008, he graduated with High Honors and accepted a 1 year internship position at the University of Pennsylvania focusing on small animal medicine and surgery. Having successfully completed his internship, he spent the next 2 years in Chicago as a clinical instructor for the University of Illinois’ general practice and specialty hospital. While working there as a general practice veterinarian. Dr. Doukas was also responsible for teaching 2^nd and 4^th year veterinary students as they completed their required rotations at the hospital. He then spent the next year and a half at North Carolina State Veterinary School gaining advanced training in Diagnostic Imaging. This included performing and interpreting ultrasounds, MRIs, CTs, and radiographs of a multitude of species including dogs, cats, birds, sea turtles, fish, snakes and even alligators! In January 2013, Dr. Doukas returned home to New York to work as an emergency veterinarian at Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists.

In his spare time, Dr. Doukas is an avid outdoorsman, enjoying  camping, fishing, jogging and most sports. Although currently living in Manhattan, Jason is looking forward to one day when he can call Brooklyn home!
