Dr. McMurtrie established Spring House Animal Hospital in 2001 with the goal of providing the level of care she desired for her own animals. Dr. McMurtrie graduated from Villanova University with a BS and MS in Biology. In 1990, she completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Veterinary Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In 1998, Dr. McMurtrie completed a residency in oncology at The Oncology Center in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Shortly after, she passed the necessary requirements and became a Diplomat of The American Board of Veterinary Practitioner, Canine and Feline Medicine And Surgery. When she is not at the office, Liz enjoys running, gardening, cooking, and walks with her husband, Jim, and their Norfolk Terriers.
