At age 6, Dr. Mueller recorded career choices in her diary as: Racehorse Trainer, Fireman, Veterinarian. The first two being unattainable, she is now a veterinarian, having received her BA in Biology from Reed College (Portland, OR) and both a PhD (Equine Nutrition & Physiology) and DVM from Cornell University (Ithaca, NY). Previously she worked in biomedical research, as a college professor and dog trainer in California, and taught chemistry in the Republic of the Congo (Africa). She also completed an internship in Small Animal Emergency Medicine in Raleigh, NC. She is an avid competitor in dog agility and other performance dog sports with her Border Collie Jif and her Border Terrier Tick.
